Bioseb BIO-CIS is a new software developped to improve the repeatability of reflex nociceptive tests: stimulated pain resistance tests are well known to be highly operator-dependant, BIO-CIS by displaying in real time the
force vs time which greatly helps the operator to improve his skills with the instrument.
The operator can use the software in 2 distinctive ways:
- Running a predefine number of trials and later invalidating off-limit results considering the force ramp observation recorded.
- Following in real time the theoritical ramp on the screen and select on a one to one basis which are the trail correct to be saved.
Operating principle:
- After launching a predefine or custom protocol, the application waits for values coming from the sensor and above the start threshold.
- As soon as force value reaches the “Start Threshold” you will be able to see the corresponding force/time curve drawn on the screen.
- Measurement will stop if the time is trespassing the “Experiment Duration” you have set or if value in grams is under the low threshold you have set.
- When the measure is stopped, you can either leave the real curve on the screen or erase the current curve and redo it. the MAX value is automatically stored in a table with day/time and animal/trial id. the table can be exported immediately in xls/txt format.
- Bio-CIS also includes the possibility to superimpose all the force ramps to control its own repetability.
- basic fonctions such a s load save trials are included
Main features:
- Software is Windows XP/SEVEN 32 bits compatible
- Software has been developped for the following instruments from Bioseb R&D: Pincher, Von Frey, Smalgo
- Real-time curve tracing of the applied force
- Peak force determination (as displayed on the instrument)
- Allows the definition of a theoretical ramp (force/time unit) with updown limits to be followed and displayed during the measurement
- Curves of a group of measurements can be reloaded and displayed simultaneously for a graphical overview.
- Export results to an Excel file or txt format
Connection:
Two possibilites are available
- Connecting using the RS232 DB9 standard serial port plug integrated to the computer
- Connecting using a USB Serial Converter: necessary for almost all the laptop models, Bioseb can provide the adapter upon request.
