BIOSEB ACTIVITY WHEELS show some unique features as:
• Measurment of Spontaneous activity in the home cage environment
• High Angular (30°) and Time (0,01sec-1 cage or 02sec-32 cages) resolutions, this is particularly well adapted to record acceleration pattern from rodent,
• Higly reliable sensors, adapted for an easy cleaning, as well as a “standard” cage construction from stainless steel and perpex
• A complete link for PC allowing to monitor up to 32 cages on the same software via an external connection to the PC’s RS232 com port (up to 5 m between cage and pc)

BIOWHEEL software includes the following:
• Settings for the data acquisition averaging periods (from 1second), the duration of recording, the latency period prior to account for Wheel movement, the Wheel “Blocking” or “resting”periods for the animal (this option includes a silent actions magnet-switch)
• Those settings are defined for each wheel or for groups of wheels.

• Results include:
• A data file computed per period with informations of speed, acceleration, wheel rotations,
• Total time of the animal in the wheel with break down in number of rotating occurences (using the preset latency time)
• Outputs: via txt file in Microsoft excel format.

2 models are available:
• BIO-WHEEL-M : mouse model
• BIO-WHEEL-R : rat model
• Upon request: simple display shows only the wheel rotations.
